IN-SCHOOL RESIDENCIES

 Project FireFly

Project FireFly, presented in partnership with Brooklyn Public Library, is a special initiative that focuses on the unique dynamics of homeschooled families.

Teaching Artists will be instructing four FREE stand-alone 90-minute STEAM workshops for homeschooled children ages 5-8 and 9-11. These workshops will provide art lessons complete with an “Artstory Swag Box,” a kit with materials to expand on the project and increase engagement at home.

By connecting the homeschooling community with free creative resources, Project FireFly aims to establish a shared identity, foster a sense of belonging, and create new community connections amongst a demographic that historically has not had these services available.

Project FireFly has concluded for 2024.

summer program

BAC is piloting a new summer program for elementary and middle school-aged students in Brooklyn this year! The program will offer a one-week deep dive into an art form for students to hone their artistic skills while developing additional transferable skills like collaboration, critical thinking, environmental awareness, and technology skills.

The 2024 AIE Summer Program has concluded.
